What are Lucapsules?
Lucapsules are an artisan roasted gourmet coffee in a Nespresso® compatible coffee pod.
The difference with Lucaffe’s Lucapsules is that they are 100% compostable.
Lucapsules are also the only compostable capsules packaged in an airtight 100% recyclable tin. The material compostable capsules are made from is slightly permeable to air which will destroy the freshness of the coffee if they are in a cardboard box. Lucapsules are stored in a modified atmosphere within a sealed tin to lock in the freshness.
Does the quality of Lucaffe coffee suffer in a Lucapsule?
- The answer is NO. Lucaffe has been fussy about maintaining all the aroma flavour and love you have come to expect from a Lucaffe coffee.
- Gian Luca, our owner and artisan roaster, personally supervised over a year of testing different blends and grinding styles before he was satisfied with the taste of the coffee delivered by a Lucapsule.
- All Lucaffe coffee is gently air roasted at low temperature to produce a more aromatic and flavourful coffee.
- To ensure the quality of the coffee Gian Luca only sources best quality most consistent coffee beans for Lucapsules.
- The quality and freshness is enhanced by being stored in a modified atmosphere in an airtight tin.
What are the advantages of making coffee with a LUCAPSULE?
- Lucapsules by themselves are 100% compostable so the only impact on the environment is to add to soil enrichment when properly disposed of.
- The packaging they come in is a 100% recyclable steel can. (or can be used as as a planter, pen holder or what ever you can think of.)
- There are myriad nespresso compatible coffee machines that you can use them. If you are travelling then you can pop a tin of them in your luggage so your favourite coffee travels with you.
- Most hotels, and holiday accommodation have nespresso compatible machines installed.
How do you use Lucapsules?
- You must have a Nespresso® coffee pod compatible coffee machine.
- Simply pop the pod in the slot designed for the Lucapsule.
- Extract the correct amount of espresso (around 25ml).
- Enjoy delicious artisan roasted Lucaffe coffee.
